A Secured Diamond District

Monitoring and safeguarding the security in the Diamond District against all internal and external threats is the primary mission of AWDC Security.

We are the trusted interface for all diamond industry stakeholders, who want to report incidents or remain informed about security incidents in the diamond district. In addition, we manage access control for vehicles wishing to enter the diamond district for deliveries, loading, or unloading.

Security and Access

Security is paramount to the Antwerp Diamond Industry. Our community members handle high-value goods and often face elevated security risks due to their religion or ethnicity—risks that can be exacerbated by geopolitical events. To ensure their safety, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre works closely with the local police force, the City of Antwerp, and representatives of key communities on a daily basis. Our mission is to create and preserve a safe environment where our community members can operate and grow their businesses.

Bicycle Station in Parking Vesting

For everyone who occasionally (or daily) bikes to work:  AWDC and the City of Antwerp developed a solution for the bicycles of the employees in the diamond industry where you can leave your trusty two-wheeler with peace of mind. The Interparking ‘Vesting’, located in the Vestingstraat is the place to be. For €6.85 (incl. VAT) per month you can rent your private and secured spot. A two-month rental deposit and a €25.00 deposit for the access badge are required.  Since employees who cycle to work are generally healthier and happier, this might be something your employer is willing to support!

The parking space only offers monthly subscriptions of indefinite duration. A rental agreement is concluded for a minimum of three months, so not for a shorter term. After that, the contract can be cancelled monthly, with a notice period of one month.

Each renter will receive a badge to access the (neighbourhood) bicycle parking facility.

Interested parties can contact the city by email at buurtparkeren@antwerpen.be, after which they will provide the necessary information and documents.
